4th Russian Language Day

The Orthodox Brotherhood of Apostles Saints Peter and Paul is pleased to host the 4th Russian Language Day on June 11, 2011. This event is organised with support from the Consulate-General of the Russian Federation in Hong Kong and Macau, the Russkiy Mir Foundation, the Russian Language Center and the Council of Russian Compatriots in Hong Kong and Macau.

This year activities of Russian Language Day are dedicated to Russian fairy tales and legends.

День русского языка в Гонконге

Приглашаем вас принять участие в конкурсах, посвященных Дню русского языка в Гонконге!

В рамках подготовки ко Дню русского языка также проводятся следующие мероприятия:
1. Олимпиада по русскому языку (28 мая, в субботу, 16.00 – 18.00)
2. Олимпиада по истории России (4 июня, в субботу, 16.00 – 18.00)
3. Показ кинофильмов каждый вторник мая - «Сказочный май»

Courses

  • Elementary Russian for Children 1

    Being the first part of «Elementary Russian for Children», this course introduces children to the Russian sounds, alphabet, reading rules and intonation as well as basic speech patters and grammar.

    The course is delivered in English as a medium of instruction by a professional native speaker.

     

    Please note that in 2011 this course is free of charge.

     

     

  • Russian for Beginners 1

    Being the first part of «Russian for Beginners», this 30-hour course introduces you to the Russian sounds, alphabet, reading rules and intonation as well as basic grammar, useful speech patterns and vocabulary on such topics as introduction of yourself and others, family, basic daily routine.

    The course is delivered in English as a medium of instruction by a professional native speaker.

     

    Duration of Russian for Beginners 1: 30 hours.

    Tuition fee: 4,000 HKD paid in 3 monthly instalments of 1500 HKD, 1500 HKD and 1000 HKD respectively.

    Full-time students can join this course free of charge.

The Legends of May

Dear friends!

We are happy to invite you to a month of fairy tales at the Russian Language Center, or "The Legends of May". On every Tuesday of the month you will watch one of the most famous and beloved Russian fairy tales and films.

All films run with English subtitles and start at 7.30 pm.

You are welcome to bring your children.

People of all languages and ages are welcome!

3 May – ‘Jack Frost’ \ “Морозко”, 1964, 84 min
10 May – 'Christmas Eve' \ “Ночь перед Рождеством”, 1961, 70 min
17 May – 'An Ordinary Miracle' \ “Обыкновенное чудо”, 1978, 138 min
24 May – 'Viy' \ “Вий”, 1967, 80 min (not recommended for children under 14)
31 May – 'Scarlet Sails' \ “Алые паруса”, 1961, 88 min

Free courses for children, teenagers and full-time students

Russian Language Center is pleased to announce that in 2011 children, teenagers and full-time students can enrol into free Russian language courses. These courses are offered in cooperation with the Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Hong Kong and sponsored by the Russkiy Mir Foundation.

The Russkiy Mir Foundation has been established by the government of the Russian Federation for the purpose of “promoting the Russian language and supporting Russian language teaching programs abroad.”
